Again, when I was listening to some old music of mine this song stood out to me. I have actually met people who say they are Christians say they are ashamed of it sometimes. They are ashamed to bring up God to their friends and family. Its like they try and hide it from everyone because its counter culture or something.
In this modern day and age, to many fellow believers try and be politically correct, try not to offend people, dance around issues and what Scripture says, try and make Scripture conform to what the world says. And I am saying No Way to this. We are Christians, we cannot hide this from anyone. Its not possible.
I’m telling you, don’t be politically correct, don’t dance around issues, don’t try and appease everyone, don’t try and make Scripture conform to what society says. Stand up for your faith and proudly proclaim whom you serve. The One True God.

Proclaim your faith in God, proclaim the Truth of Scripture, step up to your own microphone without being ashamed. Don’t walk away when God is calling you to do something. Don’t walk away from proclaiming your faith just because people won’t like it. Stop focusing on what people will think about you if you speak up, and just speak up. For those in school (Please be careful though) If your teacher/professor says something that you know is wrong, challenge them.

I will give an example from when I was in High School. It was English class and my teacher wanted us to clear our minds before we did some kind of work (I don’t remember what it was) And I was like, okay fine. Clear your mind of distractions so you can work. But then she started lighting candles and was going to turn off the lights. In fact this was an eastern meditation she wanted us to do (Seriously, add to that we were studying eastern literature) As soon as I realized what she was trying to do I spoke up and said flat out no. I refuse to participate. (A lot of people looked at me when I said this)I spoke out saying this goes against my faith and I won’t do it, and as I said this I walked out of the classroom. Didn’t even give her time to say that I couldn’t leave. (She was angry too, went to the principles office to get me in trouble. Funny thing was, she was told that I was right, that I didn’t have to participate in that activity because it went against Scripture) People in that class were astounded and shocked. They were surprised that someone had the courage to speak up and say what was going on was wrong. I was actually thanked by other classmates later for what I did.

What I am trying to say is, don’t be afraid to stand up for what Scripture says, even at the cost of ridicule and harassment. You see, when you speak up you become an encouragement to another believer that may be in the room.

So my challenge to you fellow believers. Stand up for your faith, even if that means if it costs you something. Do not be ashamed of being a Christian.

I’m not ashamed to let you know
I want this light in me to show
I’m not ashamed to speak the name of Jesus Christ.

What are we sneaking around for?
Who are we trying to please?
Shrugging off sin,
Apologizing like we’re spreading some kind of disease
I’m saying “No way. No way.”

I’m not ashamed to let you know
I want this light in me to show
I’m not ashamed to speak the name of Jesus Christ.

This one said it’s a lost cause
Save your testimonies for churchtime.
Other ones state you’d better wait
Until you do a little market research
I’m saying “No way. No way.
